Boutique brokerage Brown Harris Stevens has named a Halstead real estate heir its next chief strategy officer, the firm has informed Inman.
Christopher Halstead, who joined the brokerage in 2009 after transitioning from an advertising career, is the nephew of the late Clark Halstead, founder of the Halstead Real Estate brand.
Halstead Real Estate was absorbed by Brown Harris Stevens in 2020. Clark Halstead died in September 2024 at the age of 83.
In his new role, Christopher Halstead will oversee several company-wide initiatives and work to streamline operations, as well as provide support to directors and agents in the brokerage’s network, a press release said.
“Christopher’s leadership, insight, and commitment to excellence have long set him apart,” Brown Harris Stevens CEO Bess Freedman said in a statement. “He has an incredible ability to connect with our agents and managers, understand their needs, and execute strategies that elevate our business. I’m confident that in this new role, he will continue to strengthen our operations and position Brown Harris Stevens for long-term success.”
Prior to this appointment, Halstead had served as the firm’s executive sales director for Connecticut since 2021. In his new role, he will divide his time between New York City and Connecticut and will remain focused on driving growth in the state, the firm said.
“I’m honored to take on this new role and continue contributing to a company that means so much to me and my family,” Halstead said in a statement. “Brown Harris Stevens has always represented integrity, teamwork and excellence. I look forward to helping strengthen our operations, support our agents, and carry forward our mission to deliver the highest level of service in every market we serve.”
Halstead was a sister company to Brown Harris Stevens prior to the two companies merging, as both were owned by parent company Terra Holdings.
