The former Compass Head of Engineering will have the weighty responsibility of rolling out Compass’s technology to all of the holding company’s recently acquired brands.

Compass International Holdings, the holding company that now owns all Anywhere brands, announced on Friday that it had promoted Shay Artzi as its new Chief Technology Officer.

Previously, Artzi was Compass’s Head of Engineering, where he helped launch both Compass AI and Compass One, tools made to help the firm’s agents communicate with their clients and streamline operations. Artzi joined Compass in 2021 and previously held leadership roles at IBM and Amazon.

The announcement was made by Compass International Holdings CEO Robert Reffkin via a social media post on Friday morning.

“I’m confident Shay is the right leader to empower our real estate professionals with technology that helps them grow their businesses and better serve their clients,” Reffkin said in a press statement. “His vision is centered on building tools that elevate the entire community of real estate professionals and will continue to build technology that helps agents save time, grow their business, and better serve their clients.”

As Chief Technology Officer, Artzi will have the not-inconsequential responsibility of rolling out Compass’s tech platform across all Compass International Holdings brands, which include @properties Christie’s International Real Estate brands and the Anywhere brands (Coldwell Banker Realty, Sotheby’s International Realty, Corcoran Group, etc.). In total, the platform will service more than 340,000 agents and affiliate owners.

“Our goal is to automate the busywork and empower our agents to focus on what they do best: building relationships and providing the human expertise that technology cannot replace,” Artzi said in a statement. “That’s how we help them grow their businesses more effectively than ever before.”

Artzi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIT.
