Ryan Serhant has built his career — and his brokerage — on mastery of social media. But during Inman Connect New York last month, he dove into how online content turns into business.
“We have an in-house production company called Studios creating videos,” Serhant said while on stage. “What everyone sees on the outside is content, right? So, like Disney or like Netflix, you see what’s on the outside. And then it is mass targeted to the audience that we believe will have a direct correlation to who that buyer is gonna be. And a lot of times it’s kids. It’s edu-taining. Meaning 13-year-olds are telling their parents, ‘We just saw this, you should go take a look at this house.’ And they’re upselling their parents to buy the house.”
The comment was just one of many insights Serhant shared while explaining his recipe for success in real estate. And it’s a recipe he believes will continue to pay dividends. In fact, he argued that in the coming years, only his company and mega-brokerage Compass will be major players.
“I do think that by 2030, there will only be two major real estate firms of note,” Serhant said. “One will be Compass, and one will be us. One will focus on property as a platform. One will focus on the person as a platform.”
