Another multiple listing service announced on Thursday that it is expanding beyond its region and offering service to brokerages nationwide.
Realtracs, the MLS serving the Nashville area, said in a statement that it would begin offering national coverage through new partnerships with major brokerage firms.
In what it described as an “evolution of MLS platforms built to support broker, agent, and client choice,” Realtracs said that it had secured two key partnerships and would look for more as part of the expansion.
“Our role is not to dictate a single model,” Realtracs CEO Stuart White said. “It is to provide the infrastructure that allows those strategies to coexist within one connected system, without breaking cooperation or limiting opportunity.”
The news follows an announcement last week by MRED, the MLS serving Chicagoland, that it would also expand nationwide.
With over 19,000 members across six states, Realtracs is the largest MLS in Tennessee.
The company said that Compass International Holdings and United Real Estate had committed to contributing their listings to the platform, and that it had interest from more brokerages to join.
Realtracs said that the expansion would add more listings to its ecosystem.
“Bringing together multiple brokerages, both regional and national, encourages cooperation,” Realtracs said.
As it did with MRED’s expansion, Compass offered to subsidize the membership cost for Compass agents who join Realtracs as full members.
Realtracs didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about what it would cost for agents outside its traditional coverage area to join the MLS.
